Jennifer Lopez Lands a Film Role On-Air — WATCH NOW

Since Jennifer Lopez is my resident girl-crush, I have no choice but to post the adorable video below, in which Lopez receives the news during an on-air radio interview that she landed the movie role she’d been longing for. Her humble and grateful reaction should dispel any of those old diva rumors. Watch now.

Radar Online Exposes Lindsay Lohan’s Rehab Struggles — Has the Tabloid Gone Too Far?

I’ve always attempted to avoid bad-mouthing celebrities while at their most vulnerable. And I’ve certainly avoided recounting intimate details about their rehab-stints. But a recent article from Radar Online put me over the edge. I won’t link to it, but the online tabloid boasts about having the inside scoop on why Lohan moved rehabs, claiming that she skipped group therapy because she was convinced that they “were giving out information on her.” HELLO! Need I point out the obvious!? If this was merely an “excuse” then how does Radar Online even know about it?!! And if it wasn’t an excuse, and they were in fact giving out the information, then can you blame her for skipping it?!! Leave this girl alone. Sobriety is sacrosanct.

Wendy Williams Interviews LeAnn Rimes — WATCH NOW

You gotta love Wendy Williams. The daytime diva asked LeAnn Rimes every question imaginable, including how her husband, Dean Sheremet, found out about her infidelity, her alleged emancipation from her parents, Brandi Glanville’s printed accusations, and whether she actually trusts her now spouse, Eddie Cibrian. LeAnn handled it well, and despite my dislike for the way she handled her divorce, she’s certainly been blasted enough to last a lifetime. Hopefully she’ll stop poking her husband’s ex-wife on twitter, and put this beast to bed like a grown up girl.

Quote of the Day: Kanye West is Steve Jobs

20130612-142205.jpg“I think what Kanye West is going to mean is something similar to what Steve Jobs means. I am undoubtedly, you know, Steve of Internet, downtown, fashion, culture. Period. By a long jump. I honestly feel that because Steve has passed, you know, it’s like when Biggie passed and Jay-Z was allowed to become Jay-Z.”

Kanye West’s profound quote to the New York Times

Desiree’s On-Screen Nightmare — Brian Has a Girlfriend?!!!

Maybe I’ve outgrown the rose garden, but the “he’s-not-here-for-the-right-reasons” drama has become a wilted story-line. Perhaps it’s not planted by the producers, but it sure smells like it. Watch below, as Desiree’s courtship with a contestant comes to a screeching halt when his bunny-burning ex-girlfriend confronts him on camera. On second thought, they are probably both planted. It’s either that or they took classes at the same acting school.

James McAvoy’s Trailer for ‘Filth’ — WATCH NOW

The ability to select standout projects is nearly as difficult as the ability to act in them. That lesson has been learned the hard way for many actors, one of which is James McAvoy, whose exceptional acting skills are far surpassed by his terrible taste. It’s an unfortunate truth, and were it not for this weakness, I imagine he’d be contending with Ryan Gosling in today’s market. Watch the trailer for his upcoming film, Filth.

UPDATE: I’ve received some startling criticism from a very surly gentleman who has pointed me to many of MacAvoy’s more impressive projects including, Atonement, Last King of Scotland, and X Men: First-Class. I’ll take the hit while wearing gloves. I still think this guy is a far better actor than the projects he chooses (see Wanted, for starters).

Movie Review — ‘The Internship’

20130610-124430.jpgThe naysayers know nothing! The Internship is a refreshing reunion of two comedy titans who I’ve longed for since Wedding Crashers. Despite those curmudgeon critics, I went in with an open mind, and I left with all the laughter I looked forward to.

The film follows two laid-off salesman (played by Owen Wilson & Vince Vaughn) who are on a desperate quest for a career change after their day jobs have become dated by the digital age. Their search lands them a lucky internship at Google, where their behind-the-ball antics amidst their much more experienced (and younger) peers result in hilarity.

The sweeping undertones of the film are inspiring, playing into an idea that everyone has something to offer, and no matter what our life trajectory, we can always jump off one train in favor of another. It also helps that the Vaughn/Wilson chemistry is comedically unmatched. I’m relatively certain I could watch a looped documentary of these guys having coffee together and still enjoy it. As for the idea that their digital ignorance is dated, or that the story is a gigantic Google ad, this simply doesn’t concern me. I loved every millisecond of this film — and that’s my only judging criteria.

Brody Jenner on Bruce Jenner: “He Wasn’t a Great Father”

The father/son friction between Bruce Jenner and Brody Jenner isn’t new. Brody frowned upon Bruce’s fathering skills during a Howard Stern interview, where he disclosed that once his father took up with the Kardashians, he took them on as children while simultaneously neglecting his own. That being said, Brody’s on-screen honesty surprised me, especially considering it doesn’t bode well for the Kardashian klan’s image, which is something they adamantly protect. Watch Brody’s disclosure below.

Taylor Swift Becomes a Tot for “Everything Has Changed” Video — WATCH NOW

Would Taylor Swift date Ed Sheeran in real life? My instincts say he’s too nice for the bad-boy bound beauty. But they sure look cute together as tykes. Watch their video for “Everything Has Changed.”
