Taylor Swift v. Katy Perry: Battle of the B*tches

Somewhere along the ascent to stardom celebrities lose all sight of reality and become untouchable divas. And while I have heard wonderful things from inside sources about how Taylor Swift treats her staff, her public interviews are enraging. Her latest line of complaints is allegedly aimed at Katy Perry, who Swift told Rolling Stone is an “enemy,” because she “tried to sabotage [her] entire arena tour” by hir[ing] a bunch of people out from under [her].” And because she is “surprisingly non-confrontational” she now has to awkwardly “avoid her.” Swift neglected to name Perry directly, but the “Roar” singer scratched back on twitter, saying, “Watch out for Regina George in sheep’s clothing.” TMZ shed light on the details, explaining that Katy’s dancers joined Swift’s tour after Katy’s tour ended because they needed work. The dancers allegedly joined on the condition of leaving early with a 30 day out and asked to leave when Katy launched her most recent tour. A recent interview with one of the dancers in question tells a slightly different story, explaining that Katy contacted them and because “she’s like family” they “absolutely” jumped ship. That story made no mention of the alleged “out” in the TMZ article.

Taylor Swift is a young pup, so I’ll give her some unsolicited, real-world advice. The words “steal” and “recruit” are interchangeable in the work force. Katy wanted her team to return, so she offered them a job. I have also been offered jobs while presently employed, and my current employer never publicly pounced on my future boss. As for Swift’s cartoonishly laughable claim that she’s “non-confrontational” I’d encourage her to strengthen her internal monologue. The “country” singer is constantly calling out women, ex-boyfriends, and talk-show hosts in the press for their behavior, and she even went so far as to imitate an ex-boyfriend’s accent during a huge awards show performance so as to pinpoint his identity. That’s clearly confrontational. Also, I’d encourage this chick to loosen up. In fact, I’ll post her new song, “Shake It Off” in an effort to help her to take her own advice.

Andy Cohen’s Joan Rivers Tribute — WATCH NOW

Of all the Joan Rivers tributes circling the web, the Watch What Happens Live montage below got me the most. Rivers visited Andy Cohen’s clubhouse on numerous occasions, showing her sharp wit, comedic timing, and sweet soul. Watch to see a great mash-up of material, along with Rivers’ take on returning to The Tonight Show after 28 years, courtesy of the great Jimmy Fallon who finally broke the infamous Johnny Carson ban.

JLO Releases “Booty Clip” — Lot of Lube

While I welcome any opportunity to see Jennifer Lopez’s ass, the new clip for her “Booty” single has me wondering when she started to follow trends instead of setting them. Much like Nicki Minaj, Iggy, and Miley, JLO is putting her ASS-ets in overdrive with excessive raunchiness and a zoom-in lens. This nonsense is played out and unoriginal, and forgive me if I expected more from the queen. Watch below.

Paul McCartney Jams on Set of ‘Early Days’

Is there anything sweeter than watching a jam session with Paul McCartney? Watch a group of blues musicians join Paul for some behind-the-scenes, must-listen music on the set of his ‘Early Days’ video shoot. Oh yeah . . . Johnny Depp is there too.

Damien Rice Launches Comeback — Releases Teaser Track

Damien Rice is making a triumphant return with his first record in eight years. Produced by the legendary Rick Rubin, the album, entitled ‘My Favourite Faded Fantasy,’ will be released on November 3. In a press release to promote his record, Rice addressed his hiatus, saying, “Sometimes you have to step away from what you love in order to learn how to love it again”. Listen to a snippet of the title track below.

Fox & Friends Thinks Domestic Violence is Funny

The Baltimore Ravens released Ray Rice after TMZ published a very disturbing elevator video of a fight between him and his then fiance, which ended in Rice knocking her unconscious, followed by a feeble attempt to help her. The two married shortly thereafter, and she refused to testify against him. Though the NFL insists it did not see the video until today, many speculate that they had previously viewed the video and simply succumbed to pressure by suspending him upon it’s public release, instead of the much more lenient two-game suspension they previously gave him. And now that you have that back story, watch the video below to see Fox & Friends make light of domestic violence with bad jokes about “taking the stairs.” It’s nice to see that Elisabeth Hasselbeck has grown a sense of humor since leaving The View though. Sometimes a change of venue is just what the doctor ordered.

Justin Theroux Explains His Large Schlong to Conan

Apparently Justin Theroux has a stellar schlong and Conan O’Brien can’t avoid asking about it. ‘The Leftovers’ star explained through embarrassment that his infamous sweatpants scene was actually being “held together” by two pairs of underwear, which still didn’t sustain the goods. Jennifer Aniston is a very lucky girl (or unlucky, depending on how you look at it). Watch below.

The View Picks It’s Panel: Official Selection Announced

After endless tests, internal discord, backstage drama, and public pleas from interested parties, The View has finally selected their new panel, which will include: Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O’Donnell, Nicolle Wallace, and Rosie Perez. The daytime chat-fest has had a well-publicized refresh since Barbara Walters retirement, which preceded the exit of Sherri Shepherd, Jenny McCarthy, and longtime Executive Producer Bill Getty. Wallace served as communications chief for President George W. Bush’s reelection campaign and advised John McCain’s 2008 campaign. She is also a political analyst for MSNBC, and a smart choice for the network. The View needs a right-wing woman who can offer an alternative take without being a combative, straight-party stumper (yes, that’s a hit at Elisabeth Hasselbeck). As for Perez, it’s clear ABC wanted a Latina woman with a name, and she fits the part. It remains to be seen how Rosie O’Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg will work together, as it’s widely known that Rosie has trouble playing in the sandbox with others. That being said, tension brings ratings, and when the competition is a cheesy fluff-fest (The Talk), it’s important to establish a discernible identity. Time will tell.

Joan Rivers Passes Away at 81 — We’ve Lost an Icon

We lost the legendary Joan Rivers today, and the world just got a little bit less funny. The iconic comedian worked until her very last day, and I’m told by a close friend who saw her just days before her death that she was in great spirits, happy, and incredibly friendly. She celebrated the sunset of her life with the same fervor as her first act, extending her brand to Fashion Police, which gained her a new crop of young fans. She also caused constant controversy for which she was unapologetic, rightfully refusing to retract for her jokes. Rivers was fearless, bold, hilarious, and kind, and I’m devastated. Celebrate her life by listening to her last Howard Stern interview from just one month ago. Enjoy below.
