I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. No one is a bigger Britney Spears fan than The Dishmaster. When she launched her comeback and turned her life around, I was extremely happy for her, and I cut her a lot of performance-slack. It’s been a few years since that comeback, and I’ve officially raised my standards. Her performance on Good Morning America was sub-par at best. You cannot put on a sparkly leotard and walk around the stage while your dancers do all the heavy lifting. Britney Spears launched her career as a dancer/performer, so it would only make sense to have challenging choreography. So what’s the problem, and will we ever see Britney execute the same power moves as she did in her early days? I can’t help but wonder if the true genius behind Britney Spears’ career-best days was Wade Robson, and his departure has changed Britney’s caliber forever. Unless she starts to do more than wave her arms around and walk from one side of the stage to the other, I’m unsatisfied. Watch the video below to see her GMA performance, and watch the second video to see how she used to dance.

Britney Spears Performs in Vegas — Where’s Her Choreography?
If you’re a fan of The Dishmaster, then you know what a huge Britney Spears fan I am. Having said that, I’d like to take this opportunity to insult her for just a moment. She performed in Vegas over the weekend to promote the launch of her new album, Femme Fatale, and after watching her concert videos, it’s clear she’s not back to her career launching status. When Britney first entered the business, her performances were heavily danced focused, with Wade Robson choreographing all of her concerts, videos, and live performances. Since Britney’s comeback and Wade’s subsequent departure, she hasn’t returned to her original caliber. When you lip-sync, you have to dance. There’s no way around it. You can’t simply put on a sparkly outfit and walk slowly around the stage while sporadically moving your arms around. I need more than that, especially when you’re known for performances alone. I hate to pick on her, because I’m very happy for her comeback success, and I love every one of her songs. But enough is enough. Start dancing. I’d encourage you to watch the video below sans sound. It’s low quality, but you’ll get my point.

Britney Spears ‘Hold it Against Me’ Video Premieres — And Delivers
All of my loyal Dishmaster readers know about my Britney Spears obsession. I rooted for her when she was down-and-out, and I’m happy to see that her comeback is in full swing. Her new music video premiered on MTV tonight, and I think it ties Toxic for best Britney video of all time. It was choreographed by Brian Friedman, who used to judge and choreograph for Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance. It’s good to see Britney rocking out some dance moves again. I’m glad I have a new video to imitate — that snake was getting mighty heavy. Watch!

When Did Enrique Iglesias Start Recording Britney Spears Music?
Nothing saddens me more than when a talented person conforms to their deficit. Translation? I don’t like a sell-out, especially when its unnecessary. That brings me to Enrique Iglesias, who can actually sing, but you would never know that if you listened to his current single. It’s so abominable that I found myself yelling out loud when I heard it. “Enrique, are you serious!?,” I said, hoping he was listening outside my door. I seriously wonder whether he got this overly produced track from Britney Spears’ rejected pile of music. I know he has to put food on the table, and I know the current state of music is horrible, but this is unforgivable. I’ve posted his current video below, and I’ve also posted one of his best, older songs, called Experiencia Religiosa. After listening to the second song, I hope you’ll join me in my outrage.

Britney Spears’ Glee Episode — Who is Heather Morris?
On last night’s Britney/Brittany episode of Glee, I noticed the stand-out dance performance of Heather Morris, so I decided to look her up and find out her story. I was shocked to discover that she’s actually a professional dancer, and she performed with Beyonce at the Grammys as one of her Single Ladies. Considering there were only three Single Ladies in total (including Beyonce herself) that’s a pretty huge accomplishment. Apparently, she got the role on Glee because Ryan Murphy asked her to teach the Single Ladies choreography to the Glee cast, and he liked her so much, he hired her for the show. She’s been saying quirky one-liners ever since, while patiently waiting for her chance to strut her stuff. Last night was her chance, and she certainly took advantage of it. Overall, the episode was fantastic. My only complaint was that the men sang Stronger instead of Oops I Did It Again, but you can’t have everything. My favorite line in the episode was said by Heather Morris, when she touched a fellow student’s nappy hair and said, “it looks like a Jewish cloud.” To watch Heather Morris perform single ladies with Beyonce at the Grammys, watch the video below.
Eminem — The Best Part of the VMAs
It does not get better than Eminem. He’s the king of the music world, and his performance at Mtv’s Video Music Awards furthered confirmed my love for him. Similar to my Britney Spears snake dance, when I listen to Eminem I pretend I’m him, and I do a full performance with a hoodie and all. I stand on top of my coffee table rapping, and then I get back down to ensure that my curtains are closed. Unsurprisingly, Rihanna joined him on stage for their song, Love the Way You Lie, after planting stories in the media about how she wouldn’t be there. Watch the performance below.
